CM Kisan Yojana marked a significant milestone on Akshaya Tritiya as Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi transferred over ₹1,000 crore directly into the bank accounts of 50 lakh farmers. This massive financial boost underlines the government’s commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector and supporting farmers across the state.
Each beneficiary under the CM Kisan Yojana received ₹4,000, offering timely assistance as the farming season commences. The Chief Minister stated that this initiative not only reflects gratitude toward the hardworking farmers but also ensures they have essential financial backing for sustainable agriculture. The scheme provides this support in two instalments annually — during Nuakhai and Akshaya Tritiya — to coincide with key agricultural festivals in Odisha.
CM Majhi emphasized the importance of the agricultural community in sustaining Odisha’s economy. Through the CM Kisan Yojana, the government seeks to bolster farm productivity, reduce financial strain, and promote rural prosperity. The direct transfer method enhances transparency and ensures swift delivery of aid without middlemen.
Launched during Nuakhai last year, the CM Kisan Yojana has become a cornerstone in Odisha’s efforts to empower farmers. With rising input costs and unpredictable weather conditions, this assistance is a welcome relief for many. The initiative also reinforces the government’s dedication to inclusive development and rural welfare.
As the agricultural sector faces evolving challenges, such targeted financial schemes play a crucial role in stabilising incomes and encouraging resilient farming practices across the region.
